Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School's Program

Bravo’s medical magnet program was originally part of the school integration program to be accessible to all students in the Los Angeles Unified School District; hence, the school community has wide geographical boundaries. About 15 school buses deliver 50% of Bravo’s 1600 students, some of whom travel up to an hour to school, and are drawn from 32 middle schools. Students apply through the District’s “eChoices” program and are selected by the district’s selection process. There are no screening procedures to enroll in Bravo except that students must live within LAUSD boundaries. We typically have an extensive waiting list, especially after the late application window opens, so we encourage families to apply on time. By choosing to be here, students embrace the motto "Quality and Integrity" and make a significant commitment to work hard, strive to reach their full potential, and set a positive example for others.

What happens after applying to Bravo?

SCHOOL BUS TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
For Bravo Medical Magnet High School Students

Transportation is provided for Magnet students per LAUSD District Guidelines. Students attending Bravo Medical Magnet High School may be eligible for school bus transportation if they live more than 2 miles from the school.

Key Information:

Opt-In Required:
New students must select transportation services when accepting their offer.
Starting in 10th grade, families must opt in annually for transportation through the Parent Portal.
Bus Route Notifications:
Students who are eligible and have opted in will receive their bus route details a few weeks before the school year begins.
Routes are determined by LAUSD Transportation Services using the home address on file. Bravo does not select or modify bus routes.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off Locations:
To find your assigned stop, contact Transportation Services directly at 1-800-LABUSES or (213) 580-2900.
Routes and stop locations for the 2025–2026 school year are already set; no new stops will be added.
Emergency Contact Information:
In case of an emergency related to transportation, please call LAUSD Dispatch at 1(800) LA-BUSES / 1(800) 522-8737.
Our Area Bus Supervisor, Mr. Rios, can also be reached at (323) 223-6796 for support with transportation-related concerns.

Student Expectations:

Students must board the bus immediately after school.
Leaving the loading zone to purchase food or drinks from vendors or nearby businesses is not allowed.
Food and drinks are not permitted on school buses.
If you have questions about transportation, students can visit the Magnet Office once school begins.
During the summer, please contact LAUSD Transportation Services directly.

Late Bus Service:

A limited late bus is available on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays for Magnet students who participate in supervised after-school programs.
⚠️ No late bus service is available on Tuesdays, Fridays, or minimum days.
