Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School is located close to LAC + USC Medical Center, USC School of Medicine, Doheny Eye Institute, Keck Medical Center of USC, USC School of Pharmacy, USC Healthcare Consultation Center, and TRC-USC Kidney Center. Our location allows students an opportunity to participate in cooperative programs with these outstanding institutions.
Bravo Medical Magnet High School is adopted by the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center. Our partnership offers our students a variety of resources within the medical and allied health communities.
Bravo Medical Magnet High School has five completely equipped computer labs, three of which are computer resource centers. Each classroom has high speed Internet Access.
Bravo Medical Magnet High School is a school with high standards, assessment and accountability, outstanding curriculum and instruction, integrated technology, and a vision for success.

Patient Care Pathway
* Medical Terminology

* Exploring Health Careers/Hospital Occupations
A 2-year program consisting of Medical Terminology AB (11th grade) and a two-period block class taking place at the Keck Medical Center of USC (12th grade) and integrated academic subjects. Prepares students to qualify for entry-level positions in the health careers. Exceptional students may be offered employment at the conclusion of the program.
Biotechnology Pathway
* Science Technology and Research (S.T.A.R.) Program
* Engineering for Health Academy (E.H.A.)
A 2-year program in which students are trained in research techniques (11th grade) and assigned to a research laboratory on the USC Health Sciences Campus (12th grade, 2-hour block periods).
Qualified Bravo students work on original biomedical research projects for publication with principal investigators and the entire research/study team. They work at various sites in research departments at USC Health Sciences Campus or their affiliates.

A 3-year program in which students explore ways in which media arts production, distribution and exhibition and the media industry (film, video, digital camera, VR, etc.) intersect with STEM fields, particularly health care.

The Bravo Public Health & Innovative Technologies (B/PHIT) Academy is a two year program at Bravo in 9th and 10th grades focusing on aspects of public and community health including how we can help the health of the community by using innovative technologies.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Service Learning: Beginning with the class of 2007, all students will be held responsible for completing this requirement.
At this time, the requirement may be completed in a student's Health class.
Community Service: Students are required to complete 40 community service hours from a non-profit organization (non-political, non-religious) prior to graduation. Volunteer hours may be completed as early as the summer prior to the start of 9th Grade.
